The new villain looks like Yudias. Could it be him from another timeline? A family member? Could he be working with Otis? Well, I won't speculate but it had better tie this season together.
I am glad even though there was brainwashing in it, Rovian and Yuuna's duel ended in a genuine character moment.
Edit: Yes I am disappointed we didn't get Yuuhi vs. Zwijo round 2. That said the story between Rovian and Yuuna was endearing too.

Yuna finally beat Rovian and that ending.... Who??

Ok I will start with the possitive. I am glad that they at least had enough decency to unbrainwash Yuna so that she can get actual words in, she is probably my favorite girl character in this show and it is nice seeing her development even though they are mostly wasting her potential.

Now the criticisms. For the love of god they HAD to make the brainwash and ruin the duel. Why couldn’t we just have them duel and talk without any interference ? It would have be SO MUCH better, brainwashing doesn’t make a duel interesting, it kills the character dynamic, dialogues and make it cliche. And since Yuna was brainwashed for half of the duel even though she won i can’t even call it fully her win since once again she was brainwashed for half of it. So not only Rovian lost yet again and is now 1-4 but Yuna’s victory is not fully earned as well. What a way to screw them both, if someone was gonna get brainwashed why not Rovian so Yuna could try to reach and save her ? Now Rovian lost but victory does not fully belong to Yuuna

And secondly this arc is a huge clusterfuck. First we have a tournament, then tournament is not very important and Epoch is focus, then Brainwash comes in, then Zaion comes in and acts like a villain, Zaion is not villain and tournament will now take the focus, ohh wait tournament is not gonna be focus, it will be the brainwashing AND NOW we have this Zwijo, Yudias fusion look alike that appeared when there are only 3 episode left into the arc. This is just a huge mess and the tournament is seemingly not even gonna get concluded and we will have this new guy forced into villain role with just 3 episodes left. The writing of this show went to absolute downhill after the final of the last arc because they are trying to do everything with so little time for some reason and ruin all of it as a result

Like it or not I will continue to criticize as it is my right as a long time Yugioh fan to judge the quality of this and if it was actually good I would have appreciated it but sadly it is nowhere near the quality of the original shows

then how about here an explanation, if Otes has powers like a god, then why would he care if he wins or loses a duel if he gets what he wants from them, in lots of his duels he didn't give 100%, because most of the duels he remained with a card in his hand, and if he is a god he has understandings over the universe and thoughts that we simple humans can barely understand (this last part i took from a youtuber that he gave his thought about a being like a god from another series). Like in real life Jesus makes a lot of things that we people do not understand why things are happening in a certain way

And yet even in the very end he failed like the clown he is. In the entire sevens he remained as nothing but a failure who couldn't even serve as a proper last boss. It doesn't matter how much power you have, Darkness from GX was quite possibly the most dreaded last boss maybe aside from Zorc and he is one of the least interesting ones because he has so little screen time and loses its only duel. What matters is how you are presented and how well you do your role as an antagonist and Otes utterly failed at all regards and ended Sevens as the pitiful clown he is who couldn't archive anything and do nothing but losing.

Glad they gave darkness puppets a couple of wins though, rather than the usual YGO villain treatment of all hype but 0-4 record.

also, i think the problem in Go Rush is that the alien characters like Yudias and Zwijo are more important than the human characters and we can all see that clearly by looking at who mostly win and who mostly lose.
